Emerald F.E.A.S.T. Application is Now Available

We are very pleased to introduce a new event in conjunction with the Eugene City of Peace and HELIOS: Emerald Financing of Eugene Area Sustainable Talent (Emerald F.E.A.S.T.)

Download the application here: Emerald F.E.A.S.T. Application

The purpose of this event is to:

  • increase awareness of the importance of locally-grown "nano-businesses"
  • stimulate local circulation of money
  • provide instant cash grants to new and existing entrepreneurs
  • support business that has a community benefit
  • crowd-source philanthropic investments

During our time together, 4 pre-screened entrepreneurs will make their pitch for their project, and you will have a scorecard to submit at the end of the dinner indicating which one you favor the most. The project that receives the highest score will walk away with the proceeds of the dinner as a grant. The entrepreneur will report back on the benefit and impact of their grant at a later event. We are doing everything we can with donations of material and time to maximize the size of that grant.

What does this mean for you?
You could be one of those entrepreneurs! eDev will be taking applications for these presentation slots starting Friday, January 13, 2012. Individuals who wish to be eligible for the January 28th dinner will need to turn in their application by January 23rd at our office at 1445 Willamette Street, Suite 120, Eugene OR 97401.

Who should apply?
Emerald F.E.A.S.T. is looking for applicants who have a small yet meaningful project that can be supported with just a small (think $500) infusion of monetary support. Subject/discipline is not as important as individual and community impact. Applicants can be artists, small business owners, children's activity groups, etc. Applicants should emphasize the impact a small grant would have on the project and the project's impact on the community at large.

Emerald F.E.A.S.T. should not be the sole funder for projects. Applicants should have other sources of funding for their project, and be able to articulate how project will be perpetuated if that is intended.

We hope that you will join us and help build our community!
