Online Classes
eDev offers online courses using PowerPoint audio presentations. You will need Flash installed on your browser. Online courses allow you to watch presentations on your own time, and are available to eDev clients free of charge. Existing clients must register with eDev staff to access course materials; each client will be issued a user ID and password and instructions on accessing the courses. Non-eDev clients must register and pay for the course before permission is granted. The cost per module ranges from $5 to $10. eDev only accepts cash or check. Please allow 24 hours between requesting and receiving permission.
The following online courses are now available:
Basic Bookkeeping - Part 1: This free-to-all introductory module covers debits and credits, T-accounts, journals, and how to make simple journal entries.
Basic Bookkeeping - Part 2 (Cost - $10): This module introduces you to Pots 'R Us, a pottery company that buys raw materials, converts to finished products, and then sells the products. You need to set up journals to journalize the purchases, sales, accounts receivables, and accounts payables. Topics covered include the five major account groups of the Chart of Accounts, cash vs. accrual accounting, and journalizing business transactions.
How to write a business plan - Part 1 (Cost - $10): This module introduces the basic concept of writing a business plan.
